Science 10 Homework / Assessment Activities:

Final Exam: 
The final exam can be written anytime once all course work is complete.  Students will need to arrange with the instructor for a password to access the exam. 

​The final exam must be written by Wednesday January 13 at 4 pm local time



August-September:
  • Students will be working on completing the biology unit of the course 
 
  • Students need to complete 1.1 and 1.2 of the learning guide before receiving a password to unlock the first quiz.  Each student gets two attempts at the quiz and the highest result is recorded.

  • Students may then complete sections 1.3 and 1.4 of the learning guide and once this is complete they will receive a password to unlock the second quiz of the unit. 
 
  • Once the quizzes and learning guide is complete, students will complete and submit a project from the projects listed in the unit. 
 
  • Finally once this is all complete students will be given the password that will allow them to write the unit test.

October:
  • Students will be working on completing the chemistry unit of the course. Assessment items for this unit are:
    • ​Student Learning guide
    • 3 unit quizzes
    • A summative project
    • Chemistry unit Test
 
  • Students need to complete 2.1 and 2.2 of the learning guide before receiving a password to unlock the first quiz.  Each student gets two attempts at the quiz and the highest result is recorded.

  • Students may then complete sections 2.3 and 2.4 of the learning guide and once this is complete they will receive a password to unlock the second quiz of the unit. 
​
  • Students may then complete sections 2.5 and 2.6 of the learning guide and once this is complete they will receive a password to unlock the third quiz of the unit. 
 
  • Once the quizzes and learning guide is complete, students will complete and submit a project from the projects listed in the unit. 
 
  • Finally once this is all complete students will be given the password that will allow them to write the unit test. Students may do a re-write if the wish and have demonstrated that they have made all corrections on their first test.

November:
  • Students will be working on completing the physics unit of the course. Assessment items for this unit are:
    • ​Student Learning guide
    • 3 unit quizzes
    • A summative project
    • Physics unit Test
 
  • Students need to complete 3.1 and 3.2 of the learning guide before receiving a password to unlock the first quiz.  Each student gets two attempts at the quiz and the highest result is recorded.

  • Students may then complete sections 3.3 and 3.4 of the learning guide and once this is complete they will receive a password to unlock the second quiz of the unit.

  • Students may then complete sections 3.5 and 3.6 of the learning guide and once this is complete they will receive a password to unlock the third quiz of the unit. 
 
  • Once the quizzes and learning guide is complete, students will complete and submit a project from the projects listed in the unit.

December:

    • 3 unit quizzes
    • A summative project
    • Earth Science unit Test
 
  • Students need to complete 4.1 and 4.2 of the learning guide before receiving a password to unlock the first quiz.  Each student gets two attempts at the quiz and the highest result is recorded.

  • Students may then complete sections 4.3 and 4.4 of the learning guide and once this is complete they will receive a password to unlock the second quiz of the unit.

  • Students may then complete sections 4.5 and 4.6 of the learning guide and once this is complete they will receive a password to unlock the third quiz of the unit. 
 
  • Once the quizzes and learning guide is complete, students will complete and submit a project from the projects listed in the unit.
